History
A Associação das Escolas do Torne e do Prado nasceu em 1989, ano em que aquelas escolas, fundadas por Diogo Cassels em 1868 e 1901, tiveram de interromper o ensino primário elementar, fruto de circunstâncias conjunturais e estruturais que, como em outros textos se esclarece, vinham causando o paulatino declínio daquelas instituições.
Para perpetuar o legado de Diogo Cassels, desde logo decidiram as autoridades da Igreja Lusitana a criar uma associação sem fins lucrativos - Associação das Escolas do Torne e do Prado - instituição particular de solidariedade social com estatutos publicados no Diário da República de dezoito de maio de 1989.
Os anos 90 marcam o desenho do projecto nascente. O jardim de infância consolida-se; a creche e o centro de animação dos tempos livres iniciam as suas actividades.

The Torne and Prado Schools Association was born in 1989, the year in which those schools, founded by Diogo Cassels in 1868 and 1901, had to interrupt elementary primary education, the result of structural circumstances that, as in other texts, are clarified, had been causing the gradual decline of those institutions.
To perpetuate the legacy of Diogo Cassels, the authorities of the Lusitanian Church decided to create a non-profit association - Associação das Escolas do Torne and Prado - a private institution of social solidarity with statutes published in the Diário da República of May 18th, 1989.
The 90's mark the design of the nascent project. The kindergarten is consolidated; the daycare center and the leisure center start their activities. http://www.aetp.pt/

Em 1989, constituída formalmente (D.R. 18.05.1989) e registada na Segurança Social a AETP como instituição particular de solidariedade social. Composta por uma comissão instaladora, em 1991 surgem os corpos sociais, sendo eleito primeiro presidente da assembleia geral José Manuel Pina Cabral, o último director da escola.
In 1989, AETP was formally constituted (D.R. 18.05.1989) and registered with Social Security as a private institution of social solidarity. Composed by an installation commission, in 1991 the social bodies appeared, being elected the first president of the general assembly José Manuel Pina Cabral, the last director of the school.
