A Missão Evangélica de S. Tiago Apóstolo foi criada a 24 de Abril de 1932, no lugar da Arroteia, freguesia de Valbom, concelho de Gondomar. O seu primeiro presbítero foi Vidal Vieira dos Santos. Foi uma Missão adstrita à Igreja do Redentor. Em reunião do Sínodo, de 4 a 6 de Dezembro de 1940, foi aprovado o pedido da igreja do Redentor para que à sua Missão de Valbom fosse dado o nome de Missão Evangélica de S. Tiago Apóstolo.
A partir de 25 de Janeiro de 1958 esta Missão foi anexada à Paróquia de S. João Evangelista, Torne, continunado os cuidados pastorais a cargo do Reverendo Agostinho Arbiol e sendo bispo-eleito D. António Ferreira Fiandor.
The Evangelical Mission of S. Tiago Apóstolo was created on April 24, 1932, in the place of Arroteia, parish of Valbom, municipality of Gondomar. Its first elder was Vidal Vieira dos Santos. It was a Mission assigned to the Church of the Redeemer. At a meeting of the Synod, from 4 to 6 December 1940, the request of the Redeemer church was approved to give its Mission of Valbom the name of Evangelical Mission of St. James the Apostle.
From January 25, 1958, this Mission was annexed to the Parish of S. João Evangelista, Torne, continuing the pastoral care under the responsibility of Reverend Agostinho Arbiol and being Bishop-elected D. António Ferreira Fiandor.
