Arbiol, Agostinho.

Agostinho Arbiol era natural da freguesia de Santa Marinha – Vila Nova de Gaia onde nasceu em 17/03/1903.
A 30 de julho de 1925, fez o seu primeiro sermão sobre "O paralítico de Cafarnaum"

    Foi colaborador do "Despertar", onde se notificou pelos célebres "sermões de cinco minutos", e foi ainda secretário do Sínodo, no norte, desde dezembro de 1939.
    Possuía o curso de contabilidade da escola comercial Oliveira Martins e os exames de francês, inglês e português do liceu e de inglês do Instituto Britânico. No campo teológico fez os exames correspondentes aos graus de Evangelista, Diácono e Presbítero.
    Faleceu a 1 de maio de 1977.

D. António Ferreira Fiandor nasceu no Porto, em 1884 e faleceu em 23 de Julho de 1970.
Habilitações literárias:

  • Após o ensino elementar, obtém emprego numa oficina de escultura religiosa. Em 1901 assiste a um culto, pela primeira vez, na Igreja Lusitana do Redentor (Porto), integrando-se desde logo nas actividades da comunidade. Entre 1903 e 1907 frequenta o Curso Teológico ministrado por John Harden, no Prado.

  • Em 1905 é licenciado como pregador pelo Sínodo
  • A 26 de Abril de 1908 é instituído Diácono, em Madrid, pelo Bispo D. Juan Bautista Cabrera. Designado coadjutor do Reverendo Flower, no Redentor
  • Em 1911, nesta paróquia, é ordenado Presbítero, também pelo Bispo Cabrera, da Igreja Espanhola Reformada Episcopal.
    De Maio de 1908 a Novembro de 1923 é Ministro-Coadjutor da Igreja do Redentor, no Porto.
  • Após a morte de Diogo Cassels, em 1923, este deixa a Fiandor a herança: substituição na direcção da Escola do Torne e pastor da Igreja de S. João Evangelista.
  • Em Novembro de 1957, o Sínodo Diocesano (de que era Presidente desde 1939) elege-o Bispo da Igreja. Foi sagrado em 22 de Junho de 1958, na Catedral de São Paulo, em Lisboa. Foram bispos sagrantes D. Plínio Simões (Igreja Episcopal Brasileira), Normann Nash (Igreja Episcopal dos EUA) e James McCann, da Igreja da Irlanda.
  • Em 1960 resignou à presidência do Sínodo, por limite de idade. Manteve-se como diocesano até à sagração de D. Luís Pereira
  • Em 1962, continuando ao serviço da Igreja até ao fim dos seus dias.
  • Ainda em 1968 participa nos eventos comemorativos do centenário da Escola do Torne, que dirigiu durante quase meio século.

In 1911, in this parish, he was ordained a Priest, also by Bishop Cabrera, of the Spanish Reformed Episcopal Church. From May 1908 to November 1923 he was Minister-Coadjutor of the Church of the Redeemer, in Porto.
After the death of Diogo Cassels, in 1923, he left Fiandor the inheritance: replacement in the direction of Escola do Torne and pastor of the Church of S. João Evangelista.
In November 1957, the Diocesan Synod (of which he was President since 1939) elects him Bishop of the Church. It was sacred on June 22, 1958, in the Cathedral of São Paulo, in Lisbon. There were sacred bishops D. Plínio Simões (Brazilian Episcopal Church), Normann Nash (US Episcopal Church), and James McCann, from the Church of Ireland.
In 1960 he resigned to the presidency of the Synod, due to age limit. He remained a diocesan until the consecration of D. Luís Pereira
In 1962, continuing to serve the Church until the end of his days.
Still, in 1968 he took part in the commemorative events for the centenary of Escola do Torne, which he directed for almost half a century.

Eduardo Henriques Moreira nasceu em Lisboa em 26-02-1886.

[Casa onde esteve a Igreja de Jesus]

Casa da actual rua da Academia das Ciências onde esteve a a igreja de Jesus, depois que saiu da rua de S. Marçal e antes de ir para a rua da Senhora da Conceição, conforme opinião do irmão senhor Francisco Maria Martins.
Contém uma nota: esta informação do senhor Martins não concorda com o que dizem os documentos que dão a igreja como instalada na rua da Horta, 6A, a qual é normal a esta rua, para a esquerda da fotografia, ainda desemboca quase em frente da casa indicada, que é a que tem o automóvel à porta.

Belarmino José Vieira Barata

Belarmino José Vieira Barata aderiu à Igreja Lusitana em 1919, tornou-se diácono em 1931 e foi presbítero eleito. Faleceu em 1943.

Joaquim dos Santos Figueiredo

Joaquim dos Santos Figueiredo foi um clérigo católico romano que em 1898 aderiu à Igreja Lusitana.
Percurso religioso:
Em 1922 o Sínodo elege-o bispo da Igreja Lusitana, tornando-se no primeiro bispo não sagrado. Foi um dos presbíteros mais prestigiados da Igreja e presidente do Sínodo, sendo o primeiro bispo não eleito da Igreja Lusitana. Dirigiu o Colégio Lusitano (anexo à igreja de S. Paulo, em Lisboa), onde foi também presbítero.
Joaquim dos Santos Figueiredo was a Roman Catholic cleric who in 1898 joined the Lusitanian Church.
Religious path:
In 1922 the Synod elects him bishop of the Lusitanian Church, becoming the first non-sacred bishop. He was one of the most prestigious elders of the Church and president of the Synod, being the first unelected bishop of the Lusitanian Church. He directed the Colégio Lusitano (attached to the church of S. Paulo, in Lisbon), where he was also an elder.

Thomas Godfrey Pembroke Pope

Thomas Godfrey Pembroke Pope nasceu em Dublin em 1838 foi um sacerdote anglicano irlandês. Em 1863, designado capelão britânico em Sevilha vem anos mais tarde para Portugal onde, em 1878, na qualidade de capitão da Capelania Anglicana de Lisboa, onde estava desde 1864, se transforma num dos fundadores da Igreja Lusitana.
