Samuel Lopes Apura nasceu a 04/04/1945. Instituído leitor em 1985, ordenado Diácono em 1986, presbítero em 04/11/1989.
Foi responsável pelo serviço de pessoal de uma empresa de vinho do Porto e exerceu o cargo de secretário do Sínodo e da Comissão Permanente. Foi educado e criado pelos então porteiros da paróquia de S. João Evangelista, facto que determinou uma ligação intensa à igreja. Frequentou a Escola do Torne até à 3ª classe, altura que por decisão do governo de Salazar ela foi encerrada.
Teve uma ação preponderante na paróquia do Bom Pastor (Candal).
